DEM is a mechanical engineering company with global operations specialized in the development and manufacture of machines and systems for processing wire and reinforcing steel. Our range of equipment covers a vast spectrum of rolling technologies. It includes cold rolling equipment with customized degrees of automation for the production of flat and profile wire in ferrous and non-ferrous material, reinforcing steel wire in bars and coils, and micromills with heating of wire rod by means of induction furnaces.

We also manufacture rolling cassettes for reinforcing wire, rod calibration and rope compaction, micro rolling cassettes to be used in multipass drawing lines or in flux cored wire lines. In addition, we supply complementary equipment such as pay-offs, take-ups, bar handling units, strapping machines, calanders, flying shears, coil tilting units, etc.
Furthermore, we have technical capabilities to study, design and build special lines.

Since 1949, EVG (Austria) has been developing, designing and building machinery for the production of welded wire mesh and for processing rebar. The name EVG is synonymous with quality and efficiency. From the very beginning, developments have been set to define the industrial scale manufacture of mesh and reinforcing elements. Many of the techniques that are taken for granted nowadays originate from EVGs innovations and know how.

Since 1961 TEI (Italy) has been designing and manufacturing electrical and automation equipment for industrial applications. TEI is specialized in automation for many sectors, with focus on the steel industry: rolling, continuous casting and drawing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. In 2016 DEM join forces with TEI in order to develop "in house" software and automation with the aim of merging process and automation know-how.

WWM Technology, now part of DEM Group is a technology provider for dry and wet drawing lines, skin-pass blocks, respoolers (including automatic high-precision types), drum packers, vertical wire rod pay-offs, take-ups and copper coating tanks, together with a wide range of accessories for the Welding Wire Industry. From now on, WWM Technology’s customers will be able to take advantage of Wire Up – the DEM Digital Platform for the Wire Industry, make the most of the DEM’s smart management of spare parts, and benefit from the DEM’s Global Service Network.

VISUP is an innovative SME tech founded in 2015 within the Industry 4.0 sector. Since 2018, the company has evolved from a software house specialized in data collection and analysis to focus on developing Things5, a cloud-based IoT platform tailored for OEMs of industrial machinery and appliances. Recently, Things5 has become a modular solution combining IoT data with Generative AI to accelerate innovation cycles. This integration enables manufacturers to transform equipment into intelligent, software-driven products, simplifying end-user interaction. VISUP serves over 40 OEM clients across multiple industries.

HISTORY

1996

DEM is founded and sells its first Cold Rolling Cassette for reinforcing wire.

2001

DEM moves to new facilities and commissions its first Profile Wire Rolling line.

2003

DEM successfully commissions its first Reinforcing Wire Rolling line for bars.

2007

EVG of Austria joins DEM in the share holding and starts the group partnership.

2011

DEM starts-up an automatic Giant 4-rolls heavy-duty rolling stand.

2014

DEM doubles its production facilities, workshop and offices.

2016

DEM joins forces with TEI for 'in house' software and automation development.

2018

DEM takes further step ahead by launching DWR (Direct Wire Rolling) and DDP (DEM Digital Platform).

2020

DEM successfully commissions its first induction and tempering line for Automotive Spring Wire.
